What’s in store for 2021?
As is the tradition, the opening event for the year will be Breakfast on the Yarra, on Sunday February 7. In March we will be touring the surf coast district of the Geelong region. And, of course, the rescheduled Tasmanian tour will take place in October. The remainder of the program of events includes restaurant dinners, ‘Taste n Talks’ and a Wine Trivia Night.
Breakfast on the Yarra, Sunday February 7, 2021
Although the location is the same as always, this year’s Breakfast on the Yarra will have a new look, with the barbecue being catered for by ‘Your Private Chef’. This allows Committee members and the usual cooking volunteers to enjoy the event and reduce the amount of cleaning up. Some of our Committee have found the preparation and cleaning up too demanding in recent years. We will still need volunteers to plate-up and serve. The traditional pancake dessert will be provided by the Committee as usual.
The sumptuous barbecued breakfast consists of sausages, bacon, eggs, tomatoes and mushrooms, served with fresh bread rolls. This is followed by pancakes, jam and cream. A selection of red, white and sparkling wines from the Wine Guild Victoria cellar is included. Water, orange juice, tea and coffee will be available throughout the morning.
So get ready to pack up the tables, chairs, sun hats, and come along to enjoy a great morning on the south bank of the Yarra River. Members are invited to bring guests along. But bookings are essential. Here’s hoping for some great weather. We look forward to seeing you there.
The cost: Members $35.00, Non-members $40.00
